The Village Website:

The Village is a 501c3 non-profit based in New Braunfels Texas which provides respite care, therapeutic opportunities, and educational resources to foster connection, understanding, and growth for children, caregivers, and other within the Autism community.

The Problem:

The Village non-proft needs a responsive web presence that will become the source for updates/news, events, and donations.

Process:

  • Conduct competitor analysis of other similar non-profit websites.
  • Design and wireframe a website with flows for member to check out events, find news/updates, and make it possible to recieve donations.
  • Find a CMS/Sitebuilder that will include everything needed to make the organizational goals possible.
  • Pick a domain and build out website within sitebuilder.
  • Present, review, iterate, test, and publish.

My Role:

UX Designer/UI Developer

Timeline: ~3 weeks

Tools Used:

Figma, ChatGPT, Wix

Discover:

First step was conducting a competitor analysis of other non-profits to get a grasp of what those organizations web-experience offer.

I looked at the following non-profit websites:

  • Any Baby Can
  • Autism Speaks
  • Mckenna Foundation

Define:

These websites belong to non-profits that are much more establishedand had alot of different catagories and flows.

Since "The Village" is a new non-proft, the goal became to create a experience which met all of the goals, and could be expanded upon as new programs became available.

Develop:

I built out lo-fi wireframes with flows pertaining to the goals of the website.

I edited all my graphics, and image assets and implemented them within the wireframes to get an idea of how they would display on the site.

Using Wix sitebuilder, I built out all of the pages and corresponding flows for making donations, RSVPing events, and keeping up to date with news/announcments
