Mobile Experience - PPC Application Flow:

The Power Protect Checking (PPC) Account is our flagship product at SSFCU. It is a Checking account with many features included for a monthly fee.

The Problem:

What would the process look like for a member to fill out the application and purchase this product within the mobile experience?

How might we create a fast, seamless application process within the mobile experience?

Process:

  • Conduct competitor analysis of how applications are implemented within other Financial Institutions.
  • Focus on the happy path, and build out a end to end flow.
  • Present, discuss, test, iterate, rinse and repeat.
  • Present a clickable prototype for stakeholders and discussion.

Discover:

First step was in looking at other financial institutions and seeing how they implement product applications within their mobile application

I looked at the following FI websites utilizing Yext Search:

  • Capital One
  • TDECU (Credit Union)
  • Webster First Federal Credit Unioin

Define:

Considerations were made based on the application placement within the mobile experiences examined during the competitive analysis.

Because of the wide variety of scenarios, end states, error states - I focused on the "happy path".


Develop:

I built out a complete end to end flow with a successful end state, and with updates to the current production state components in order to streamline and improve the UX of the application flow.

The prototype features component treatments that differ from current state components, as well as gamefied features, such as a progress bar, loading animation, custom graphics, and checkpoint graphics, to delight the user, steamline the flow, and enrich the experience.
