App Store Preview Images:

Redesigning screenshots for the SSFCU mobile banking app in the app store.

The Problem:

The App Store imagery used in the listing for our mobile application is outdated and does not highlight the benefits and features of our mobile banking experience.

Process:

  • Build out a few concepts that explore some different creative directions.
  • Present and gather feedback from the team, stakeholders, etc.
  • Build out a high-fidelity version based on feedback.
  • Present again, then export and upload into the app store.

My Role:

UI Designer

Timeline: ~2 weeks

Tools Used:

Figma

Discover:

I worked with our product manager team to find some existing financial institutions' app store imagery for reference.

The goal was to find some key features that were well-liked by the team. I took a look at:

  • Chase Bank
  • Wells Fargo
  • Capital One

Define:

Some key features that were well-liked by the team included some form of breaking the picture plane. And a focus on showcasing our 3 most used features within the app according to data pulled and reviews.

Develop:

I built out three different flows and presented them.

Afterwards, I built out a higher fidelity version encompassing all of the feedback, and refinements from myself and the team.

Roadblocks:

No real roadblocks, but I did discover that Figma was not as well suited for this project as Adobe would have been.
